Job summary

Hudbay is seeking a Survey Technician to lead field productivity, machine control integration, and daily pit updates at our Arizona operations. The role involves operating GPS-enabled machinery, performing layout work, and supporting drone flights with precise GCPs.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED and 1–3 years of mining experience, with preferred familiarity in GPS-GIS mapping, geometry, and triangulation. A strong safety mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience: 1-3 years of mining experience.
• Preferred: Understanding of mining or heavy civil construction.
• GPS-GIS mapping and surveying concepts are valued.

Responsibilities

• Machine Control Integration: calibrates benches and pushes updated machine control files to cabs.
• Daily Production Tracking: records dig face as-builts and stockpile progress.
• Layout Execution: sets stakes/flags for drill & blast patterns and high-wall limits.
• Flight & Equipment Support: establishes Ground Control Points for drones and manages equipment staging.
