Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a driven Survey Technician to join our Connecticut team. You will operate GPS and conventional surveying equipment, support field staff, and contribute to projects from site to deliverables.

You’ll work with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center, apply remote sensing methods, and help prepare plans and maps under supervision. A strong safety focus is required.

Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred or equivalent technical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in surveying/geomatics.
• OSHA 10 safety certification required; HAZWOP 24 or 40 hours and Roadway Worker helpful.
• NPS certification desired. CST preferred.
• Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center and/or Bentley MicroStation.
• Knowledge of remote sensing techniques including terrestrial/mobile LiDAR and photogrammetry.

Responsibilities

• Operate conventional and GPS surveying equipment.
• Serve as field lead and supervise field surveys with minimal oversight.
• Organize and coordinate field staff on projects.
• Mentor and manage junior field staff.
• Participate in project meetings with clients and represent the firm on site.
• Read, understand plans and specifications.
• Prepare plans and maps in AutoCAD; process field data into drawings.
• Compute boundary records to support licensed staff.
• Assist licensed staff in reports, plans, and contract documents.
• Assist in project/task work plans.
