Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design in Biddeford, ME seeks a driven Survey Technician to join our growing Survey/Geospatial team. You will operate conventional and GPS survey equipment, lead field crews, and coordinate project tasks on site, while feeding data into Civil 3D and related tools to produce plans.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of surveying experience, OSHA 10, and proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble BC or Bentley MicroStation.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree preferred or equivalent technical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in surveying or related field.
• OSHA 10 hours required; HAZWOP 24/40 hours and Roadway Worker helpful.
• NPS certification desired; CST preferred.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble BC and/or Bentley MicroStation.
• Strong data techniques and coding systems knowledge.
• Ability to read plans and understand specifications; valid driver's license.
• Proficient English reading/writing for job communications.

Responsibilities

• Operate conventional and GPS surveying equipment.
• Serve as Field-Lead with minimal oversight.
• Organize and coordinate field staff on projects.
• Mentor and supervise junior field staff.
• Participate in client meetings and represent the firm on site.
• Maintain knowledge of surveying standards and methods.
• Coordinate routine vehicle and equipment maintenance.
• Attend safety training at client sites.
• Read plans and specifications; process field data into CAD outputs.
• Prepare plans and maps in AutoCAD with supervision.
• Analyze boundary records with Licensed staff support.
• Provide layout computations and assist in report preparation.
