Job summary

LJA Surveying in Texas, part of LJA Engineering, is seeking a Survey Technician to prepare metes and bounds, exhibits, and mapping products for boundary projects. Strong data gathering and topographic map creation will be daily tasks.

The role requires Surveyor-in-Training certification or progress toward licensure, 5+ years of survey experience, and proficiency in CADD and MS Office. TxDOT experience is a plus; excellent communication and client relationship skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of survey experience.
• CADD experience required; TxDOT experience is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships with clients.

Responsibilities

• Gather data for topographical maps.
• Stake projects for construction using engineering plans.
• Compare survey computations with standards for data adequacy.
• Collect information from maps, survey data, photos, and records.
• Prepare topographic and contour maps with site features and notes.
