Job summary

Southeastern Engineering, Inc is seeking a Survey Tech 3 to support the Project Manager and lead a portion of the weekly field workload. The candidate should be self-motivated and team-oriented, with strong skills in boundary resolution, topographic mapping, and field data collection.

Responsibilities include supervising team members, performing detailed quality control, and ensuring compliance with CAD standards and GDOT EDG.

Qualifications

• Georgia Driver's License and ability to pass a Security Background check.
• Minimum 2 years surveying field experience preferred.
• LSIT or Surveyor Apprenticeship desired.
• Proficiency with CAD, Word and Excel required for daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Manager by optimizing project production and manpower forecasting.
• Lead weekly workload planning and supervise field activities.
• Conduct boundary/Right of Way resolution research and mapping.
• Perform field surveying and data collection using conventional and GPS methods.
• Ensure CAD standards and GDOT EDG are followed; perform QC reviews.
• Communicate effectively and document technical details.

Job description

A Survey Tech 3 supports the Project Manager through efficient project production. Must be self-motivated individual that works well in a team-oriented environment. Ability to function as a team lead while supervising weekly project workload and manpower forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Excellent understanding of Boundary/Right of Way resolution and all associated research.
• Excellent understanding of Topographic Mapping and/or Route Surveys.
• Excellent understanding of field surveying and data collection techniques.
• Excellent skills in all related CAD software(s).
• Excellent data reduction for all mediums, conventional, GPS etc.
• Perform detailed Quality Control reviews for all projects.
• Excellent knowledge of local, State and County laws governing platting and/or GDOT Survey Manuel.
• Excellent communications and relationship building skills.
• Excellent technical writing skills.
• When required, work nights and weekends projecting a high level of flexibility.
• Excellent understanding and regular/daily implementation of southeastern engineering, Inc. CAD standards and/or GDOT Electronic Data Guidelines (EDG).
• Excellent understanding and regular/daily implementation of southeastern engineering, Inc. safety policies and procedures.
• Meet and exceed all Survey Technician 2 requirements.
• Additional duties as assigned.

• This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as but not limited to, computers, phones copiers, scanners and plotters.
• The job requires the ability to sit for extended periods at a computer workstation.
