Job summary

Paylocity is seeking a Field Survey Technician in MacGregor Park, NC, to support construction, roadway, topo, and boundary surveying. You will operate GPS, total stations, and data collectors, collect field data, and prepare notes and documentation.

The role requires outdoor work, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and a valid driver's license; recent graduates are encouraged to apply, with a high school diploma or equivalent and basic surveying knowledge.

  • 0–2 years of land surveying experience; recent graduates and candidates with relevant coursework are encouraged to apply

  • General understanding of land surveying principles and practices
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass an MVR check
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and technical skills
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and team-oriented
  • Ability to work outdoors in a variety of environments and conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform physical tasks such as walking over uneven terrain, clearing vegetation, and driving stakes
  • Experience reading engineering plans or operating surveying equipment (preferred)

Field Work

The position requires the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions to complete fieldwork. Candidates must be comfortable with extended periods of travel in a vehicle and possess the physical stamina to perform manual tasks such as lifting, digging, and standing for long durations. The ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds is also required.
