Job summary

WithersRavenel is seeking an entry-level Survey Field Technician to support field crews on land surveying projects. You will operate surveying equipment, collect field data, and assist with staking, boundaries, and topographic work in construction, roadway, and boundary projects.

The role requires physical stamina to work outdoors, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a willingness to learn. You will collaborate with engineers, crews, and the public while maintaining safety and quality

Qualifications

  • 0–2 years of land surveying experience; recent graduates and candidates with relevant coursework are encouraged to apply.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • General understanding of land surveying principles and practices.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass an MVR check.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and technical skills.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and team-oriented.
  • Ability to work outdoors in a variety of environments and conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform physical tasks such as walking over uneven terrain, clearing vegetation, and driving stakes.
  • Experience reading engineering plans or operating surveying equipment (preferred).

Field Work

The position requires the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions to complete fieldwork. Candidates must be comfortable with extended periods of travel in a vehicle and possess the physical stamina to perform manual tasks such as lifting, digging, and standing for long durations. The ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds is also required.
