Job summary

GRAEF, a leading U.S. consulting firm, seeks a Survey Manager for our Chicago O'Hare office. You will lead and grow the survey team, pursue clients and assignments, and manage projects including budgets and staffing.

Required are a civil engineering degree, 8+ years of surveying experience with IDOT/municipal work, IL PLS registration, and proficiency with MicroStation/Civil3D; Trimble experience is a plus. Hybrid schedule and strong BD skills preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or relatable field.
• Minimum 8 years of surveying and project management experience with IDOT, City of Chicago, municipalities and private developers.
• IL PLS registration is required; Trimble equipment experience is a plus; MicroStation/Civil3D experience preferred.
• Proven track record in business development; prior management experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Exciting opportunity to expand and grow the survey team in Chicago.
• Pursue prospective clients and survey assignments.
• Increase Net Revenue of Survey Department.
• Preparation of survey documents, including Plats and Legals, interfacing with design staff.
• Manage survey projects (budgets, staffing, invoicing, contracts).
• Maintaining client contacts.
• QA/QC of survey work.
• Field work may be required.
• Assisting other offices with survey tasks as needed.

• IL PLS registration
• Experience with Trimble survey equipment/software a plus
• Proven track record in business development
• Prior management experience is preferred
• MicroStation and/or Civil3D experience preferred

• The salary range for this position is $135,000-$160,000. (Salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience and skill set, as well as internal and external equity.)
