Job summary

Control Point Associates in Warren, NJ is seeking an experienced Project Surveyor to join our expanding team. You will oversee surveying activities, manage staff, and ensure high-quality field and office deliverables across construction stakeouts, boundary surveys, and more.

The ideal candidate will hold a New Jersey Land Surveyor license (or be licensed soon), have 10+ years of survey experience, and be proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• Licensed New Jersey Land Surveyor is required or in process.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred but experience may offset.
• Extensive survey experience (≥10 years) with client-facing ability.

Responsibilities

• Quality control of survey documents (plans, plots, metes and bounds) and construction layouts.
• Provide weekly progress reports to project stakeholders and management.
• Oversee surveying activities including staff, resources, time allocations and schedules.
• Maintain a deadline-driven delivery mindset.
• Prepare and execute QC reviews, safety, and QA procedures.
• Increase client satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
• Create and maintain leadership in the market and beyond.
• Staff development: mentoring at all levels to grow expertise.
• Exemplify commitment and flexibility in hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

• Quality control of all survey documents, including survey plans, record plots, metes and bounds descriptions, review of title commitment reports, and construction layout services.
• Provide weekly progress and status reports on project deliverables to all project stakeholders and management team
• Responsible for administering surveying activities which includes oversight of staff, technical resources, time allocations, and schedules.
• Deadline driven
• Prepare and execute quality control reviews, safety, and quality assurance procedures
• Continually seeks opportunities to increase client satisfaction and deepen client relationships
• Create and maintain the company’s strong presence and leadership in the surrounding market and beyond
• Staff development: provide mentoring and training to all staff levels to increase surveying and procedural knowledge

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• A minimum of 10 years of survey experience, with the successful applicant being a licensed Land Surveyor in New Jersey
• Bachelor's Degree is preferred
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Ability to relate to clients and people at all levels of the organization.
• Must possess excellent communication, diplomacy and listening skills; specifically, be accessible and responsive to the needs of clients.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret drawings and the most complex documents.
• Ability to operate a computer, using technical software and other applications, spreadsheets, and other business software.

Compensation And Benefits

• Pay Range: $100,000-$140,000+ depending on experience and licensing.
