Colliers Engineering & Design in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a Survey Project Manager to lead survey and geospatial projects. You will supervise staff, manage scope, schedule, and budget, and coordinate technical direction with management.

Join a team delivering data from air, ground, and subsurface sources to provide precise interpretation and enable project success. The role emphasizes leadership, quality control, and strong client communication.

Qualifications

8-10+ years in land surveying or related field.
Experience managing construction staking projects and crews.
Understanding of the construction industry and client demands.
Professional licensure preferred.
Valid driver’s license.
Proficient with surveying software.
Able to manage project lifecycle from planning to delivery.
Strong writing and communication skills.
Read/write English at work.
Track progress against milestones and budgets.
Coordinate with multiple functions and external clients.

Responsibilities

Prepare effective work plans and labor budgets for approval by the Department Manager.
Monitor time schedules and capital cost budgets on projects to satisfy the client and control work and productivity.
Prepare advanced engineering designs and/or technical data for completion and accuracy.
Coordinate/Prepare As-built submittals for the client at the end of each project.
Responsible for the quality control/quality assurance process on all assigned projects.
Oversee the work and productivity of assigned projects.
Strive to achieve predetermined goals for profit, productivity targets, and schedule of deliverables.
Work under short deadlines to meet construction demands
Participates in formulating and coordinating proposals and provides other Marketing support, including Business Development.
Identify the project team, work packages and tasks, evaluation methods, productivity targets, schedule of deliverables, and manpower needed on projects.
Hold team meetings to ensure procedures governing project review and approval are followed prior to submitting completed work.
Negotiate with clients on scope changes relative to project budgets and schedules subject to supervisors' approval.
Coordinate and communicate effectively with all employees involved in the project to ensure high utilization rates.
Review monthly labor and cost reports to ensure projects are being completed at the pre-determined goal.
Ensure everyone involved is working in accordance with all project planning and profit control procedures.
Ensure that all scope revisions affecting the project schedule and/or budget are discussed with the client. Ensure the client approves all out-of-scope work and associated fees before performing the services.
Solicit help and involvement from Department Managers and other managers to troubleshoot technical problems.
Works efficiently with the Billing Department to authorize and transmit bills to clients. Follows up with clients for timely payments.
Mentor junior staff in learning sound technical and business practices and enhancing corporate objectives.
Adhere to the Health and Safety program and all applicable SOPs.
