Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design in Phoenix seeks a Project Survey Technician to support survey teams by converting field data, records, and calculations into precise deliverables for design, construction, land development, and infrastructure projects.

Collaborate with field crews, project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure quality control, organize field and office tasks, and assist in preparing plans and reports for complex projects across the Valley.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required; Associate degree or equivalent technical experience is preferred.
• 5+ years of related surveying experience required.
• Experience working on DOT projects preferred.
• AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency required. MicroStation, InRoads/OpenRoads proficiency highly preferred.
• Proficient various data techniques and coding systems.
• Advanced knowledge of various surveying instruments, techniques, and computations.
• Advanced understanding of angular and linear measurement systems.
• Advanced knowledge of trigonometry and geometry.
• Valid drivers’ license required and ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and prepare complete boundary survey by compiling record data and providing sound analysis and reason for accurate property line location.
• Perform Quality Control review on reports, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and other contract documents prepared by others for accuracy and completeness.
• Provide assistance to staff in the preparation of reports/findings, plans, and other contract documents.
• Organize and coordinate the work of field and office staff required to complete design, field and/or other tasks on more complex projects.
• Assist in the preparation of project/task work plans.
• Provide direction to staff to complete project objectives.
• Monitor the work efforts of assigned staff including sub-consultants and/or contractors.
