Job description

You will work from our Rochester Hills office. If you live more than 120 miles from this office, we offer relocation assistance.

Spalding DeDecker is seeking a Land Survey Project Manager to lead a team of surveying professionals and manage projects across multiple sectors, including oil and gas, private land development, contractor staking and coordination, municipal surveying, and industrial surveying. In this position, the Survey Project Manager will oversee both field and office staff to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of high-quality surveying products. This position reports directly to the Survey Manager.

Candidates should have experience in one or more of the listed sectors and possess strong technical and managerial skills. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing project deliverables, monitoring budgets, performing calculations and legal research, and guiding staff in their professional development. Exceptional communication and client-relationship skills are essential, as this role plays a key part in maintaining strong client partnerships and supporting repeat business opportunities.

Typical Duties & Responsibilities
  • Work with established clients
  • Develop project criteria, schedules, and budgets
  • Lead multidisciplinary team of surveyors and technicians
  • Manage projects from design survey through construction layout
  • Lead the development and design of new capital improvement projects from beginning to end
  • Maintain existing client relationships
  • Assist in the development of new clients and opportunities
Requirements
  • Michigan PS License (Preferred)
  • 10-15 years of Survey experience including 5 years of Project Management
  • AutoCAD Proficiency (Preferred, but not required)
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, and thorough follow-through skills.
  • Accuracy, dependability, and strong organizational skills
Work Environment / Physical Demands

Individuals must be willing to:

  • Work in an office environment
  • Attend client meetings and travel by car and/or plane if the project requires it
  • Participate in industry events such as conferences, relevant presentations
  • Perform site visits
