Job description

You will work from our Rochester Hills office.

Spalding DeDecker is seeking a Survey Technician to join our Survey Department and support field operations on a variety of surveying projects. In this position, the Survey Technician will work under the direction of a Survey Crew Chief and assist with all aspects of field data collection, including operating surveying and utility-locating equipment, as well as trucks or ATVs as required for project needs. This position reports directly to the Survey Crew Chief. Candidates should be motivated individuals interested in developing a strong foundation in land surveying through hands‑on field experience. The ideal candidate is pursuing or has completed coursework in surveying, engineering, or a related field, and may be enrolled in evening classes while seeking a full‑time role that complements their studies. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience, build technical skills, and grow within a professional surveying environment.

Work Environment / Physical Demands

Additional Information

Job Type: Full‑time. May be different for field staff (Survey and Construction Engineering)

Schedule: Monday to Friday
