Job summary

Bowman in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Survey Party Chief to lead field crews and manage geospatial data collection. You will supervise survey crews, coordinate with contractors, and ensure survey quality and safety on projects in the Albuquerque area.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in land surveying, with Party Chief experience a plus, and proficient knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D, total station and GPS data collection.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; associate/bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3+ years in land surveying field party work.
• Prior Party Chief experience a plus.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D preferred.
• Familiar with boundary and ALTA/NSPS surveys.
• Thorough knowledge of total station, GPS and data collection.
• Valid State Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day supervision of assigned survey field crew and mentor junior staff.
• Coordinate with contractors to deliver survey services.
• Identify controls for property lines and determine surveying approach.
• Gather information needed to conduct surveys efficiently and assign tasks to crew.
• Discuss work with clients as necessary; maintain records of surveys.
• Ensure survey equipment and vehicles are properly maintained and organized.
• Communicate with management to maximize efficiency and hours.
