Job Description for Construction Supervisor at Fluor

Fluor is seeking candidates for the I-35 Northeast Expansion (NEX) South project in San Antonio, TX. This project involves designing and constructing approximately four miles of elevated lanes and associated interchanges, addressing one of the most congested corridors in Texas.

The role requires a background in construction management, with the ability to coordinate and oversee craftsmen and contractors, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency.

Job Duties:

1. Ensure compliance with Fluor Operating System Requirements (OSR), Operating System Implementation Plan (OSIP), and other business line standards.
2. Execute field survey activities in accordance with project drawings, specifications, schedules, and safety standards.
3. Manage project schedule and control costs by efficiently utilizing resources including manpower, materials, tools, and equipment.
4. Monitor productivity and implement actions to maximize labor efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
5. Promote safety culture, integrating safety into all aspects of work.
6. Lead and manage staff, including managers and supervisors across various functions such as safety, quality, construction, and engineering.
7. Coordinate activities and communication within the site and with external offices and stakeholders.
8. Support project execution through resource management, craft activities, and support functions to ensure safety and quality.
9. Ensure all work is within scope and complies with relevant requirements.
10. Act as the primary point of accountability to senior management, clients, and the community.
11. Apply surveying methods to meet or exceed specified accuracy levels, establishing and managing control networks.
12. Maintain survey instruments and equipment, ensuring proper care and calibration.
13. Prepare accurate survey notes and data to support design and as-built documentation.
14. Utilize surface scanning techniques and manage scan data for surface creation.
15. Determine quantities for progress and cost reports, and verify contractor payments.
16. Maintain a qualified survey staff to meet project needs.
17. Organize file transfer processes between office and field.
18. Coordinate survey activities with construction supervision, ensuring safety and accuracy.
19. Supervise field engineering teams responsible for layout and location of work according to design drawings.
