The Survey Party Chief's primary function is to provide all field layouts for assigned DOT projects. The Party Chief is responsible for calculating and staking all survey points with the use of electronic and/or manual instruments and ensuring all information produced by office personnel is accurate. All field data must be retained and archived for the company. Be able to read and understand blueprints, calculate all grade data (IE: bluetops, slope stakes, drainage structures, retaining walls, bridges) and collect data information. Also, needs to be familiar with and use both GPS equipment and Robotic total stations, computers, and data collectors. Knowledge of Topcon software is a plus.
