Job summary

Schneider Geomatics is seeking a Survey Party Chief for our Energy Services team in Charlotte, NC. You will lead survey operations, manage field crews or work solo, and ensure data quality and safety on utility, residential, commercial, and highway projects.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of party chief experience, familiarity with Trimble equipment, and proficiency in field documentation. A strong work ethic and reliable travel readiness are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of responsible party chief experience in survey work across utilities, residential, commercial and highway projects.
• Self-disciplined with ability to operate as a one-person crew.
• Knowledge of Trimble equipment and related software.
• Detail oriented with a drive for quality and accuracy.
• Willing to work extra hours to meet deadlines and client requests.
• AutoCAD/Civil 3D is a plus but not required.
• Clean driving record and drug screen required.
• Background checks and client badging are required.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Take resource information and supervisor instructions to complete tasks within budgets.
• Follow industry and company standards and procedures.
• Process and check field data.
• Document each project in field notes per company standards.
• Provide responsible care for vehicles and equipment.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
• Some overnight travel may be required.

Survey Party Chief

Schneider Geomatics is a third generation, family-owned, surveying and civil engineering firm celebrating over 60 years. Schneider Geomatics is currently looking for a Survey Party Chief for our Energy Services team located in Charlotte, NC.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualities:

• 5+ years or more of responsible party chief experience in Utility, Residential, Commercial and Highway construction staking, ALTA surveys, Route surveys and Topographic surveys with an emphasis on utility transmission and distribution projects.
• Candidate should be self-disciplined as position will often require working as a “one person crew”.
• Knowledge of Trimble equipment – GPS base and rover units, VRS networks, Robotic total stations, Digital level, Trimble data collectors and TBC processing software.
• Detail oriented and motivated to work tasks to a quality completion.
• Willing to work extra hours to meet deadlines and client requests.
• AutoCAD/Civil 3D experience is a plus, but not required for position.
• Acceptable driving record and drug screen required.
• Company and client background checks are required for this position. A thorough client badging process is required.
• Good written and verbal communication skills required.
