Job summary

A civil engineering firm in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Survey Party Chief to lead utility transmission projects. The ideal candidate must have over 5 years of relevant experience in construction staking and surveys, including ALTA and topographic surveys. Knowledge of Trimble equipment is essential. Qualifications

• 5+ years of party chief experience in various construction disciplines.

• Knowledge of Trimble GPS base and rover units, VRS networks, robotic total stations, and field data processing.

Responsibilities

• Lead utility transmission and distribution surveying projects.
• Process and check field data accurately.
• Document all projects according to company standards.
• Follow safety policies and procedures.
• Overnight travel may be required to meet client needs.

Schneider Geomatics is currently looking for a Survey Party Chief for our Energy Services team located in Charlotte, NC.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualities:

• 5+ years or more of responsible party chief experience in Utility, Residential, Commercial and Highway construction staking, ALTA surveys, Route surveys and Topographic surveys with an emphasis on utility transmission and distribution projects.
• Candidate should be self-disciplined as position will often require working as a “one person crew”.
• Knowledge of Trimble equipment – GPS base and rover units, VRS networks, Robotic total stations, Digital level, Trimble data collectors and TBC processing software.
• Detail oriented and motivated to work tasks to a quality completion.
• Willing to work extra hours to meet deadlines and client requests.
• AutoCAD/Civil 3D experience is a plus, but not required for position.
• Acceptable driving record and drug screen required.
• Company and client background checks are required for this position. A thorough client badging process is required.
• Good written and verbal communication skills required.
• Take resource information and supervisor instructions to efficiently complete tasks within designated budgets.
• Follow industry and company standards and procedures.
• Process and check field data.
• Document in field notes each project according to company standards.
• Provide responsible care for vehicles and equipment.
• Responsible for knowing and practicing all company and client safety policies and procedures.
• Depending on client needs, some overnight travel may be required.
