Tectonic is currently seeking a full-time Monitoring Technician within the Survey Department of our Orange County, NY Office.


This position provides an excellent opportunity to work with a diverse group of land surveying professionals!


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Assist in coordinating field monitoring utilizing equipment and software such as Leica GeoMos;

  • Coordinate the installation and setup of field equipment for data point collection;

  • Manage the performance of routine calibrations and adjustments to guarantee the accuracy of measurements;

  • Work closely with field technicians to ensure equipment is functioning properly;

  • Download and analyze collected field data for further processing; perform statistical calculations and solve problems as they arise;

  • Assist with site reconnaissance activities to assess conditions and potential challenges;

  • Assist in the preparation of project documentation

  • All other related duties as required; this position requires occasional site visits.


QUALIFICATIONS


  • Relevant experience or formal education in a civil engineering / land surveying profession;

  • HS Diploma/equivalent required; Associate's Degree or Higher in a relevant field is preferred;

  • Must be extremely detail oriented, as accuracy is essential;

  • Effective communication and problem solving skills;

  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to become proficient in project specific software;

  • Valid, clean driver's license.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is frequently required to assume a stationary position, handle, inspect, and/or feel documents, materials and/or equipment relevant to the job and communicate about same. The employee will also need to process manual and computer generated documents, and will be required to communicate using the Corporate e-mail and telephone systems. In accordance with the level of visual detail required for this position, close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are required for this position. They may be occasionally required to move around on a job-site, including ascending or descending on the landscape or on a ladder, and positioning themselves appropriately to obtain necessary specifications. The employee may be occasionally required to lift and/or move equipment and materials up to 10 lbs. This position may involve occasionally operating a motor-vehicle, which may require assuming a stationary position for extended periods of time. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform essential functions of these positions. PAY RANGE


Tectonic's goal is to compensate employees fairly and equitably across all positions Companywide. Our advertised pay ranges are representative of our good faith effort to provide a reasonable anticipated salary range. The offered pay may be outside of the provided salary range based upon the selected candidate's work location, experience, education, certifications, and capabilities compared to the advertised position.


Pay Range: $26.00 - $31.00 / hour
