Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Survey Intern to gain hands-on field and office experience, directly relating to a career in surveying. You will develop, participate and learn key roles and functions within surveying.

Based in the Central District with opportunities to travel and relocate as needed, you’ll support field plans, data processing and safety procedures while gaining exposure to transportation, heavy civil, and bridge projects.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in surveying or related field.
• Ability to travel and relocate as business requires.
• Available to work full-time during the summer (approximately May–August).
• Willing to learn field and office survey processes.
• Demonstrated commitment to ethics and safety on job sites.

Responsibilities

• Follow the project survey plan specific to field operations.
• Maintain accurate record keeping, field procedures and survey audits.
• Utilize software to process field data.
• Follow proper field safety procedures.
• Take accurate and legible field notes.
• Perform setting and maintenance of control network.
• Communicate with project surveying team.
