LJA Engineering, Inc. is seeking an Instrument Person to support surveying projects across site and field operations. You will transport and set up instruments, prep the job site, and assist the survey team to capture accurate elevations and measurements.

This role emphasizes hands-on field work, safety, and collaboration with the team. A HS diploma or GED is required, with strong communication skills and the ability to build solid client relationships.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong communication skills both oral and written.
• Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external clients.

Responsibilities

• Transport and set up surveying instruments and equipment.
• Clear brush or trees from survey line.
• Lay out stakes for elevation measurements.
• Hold prism pole steady for the surveyor to help determine elevations.
• Measures horizontal distances between points.
• Assist with various survey equipment.
