Job summary

Actalent has an opening for a Land Surveyor / GIS Technician. This hybrid role blends field surveying with geospatial data management to support infrastructure and land development projects.

Responsibilities include collecting field data, producing survey drawings, and maintaining GIS databases. The ideal candidate will have a degree in surveying or geomatics and hands-on experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS software, and surveying equipment such as Leica/Topcon.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Experience performing land surveying and field data collection.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and survey drafting.
• Experience using Leica, Topcon, GPS/GNSS, or similar surveying equipment.
• Experience with GIS software, preferably Esri ArcGIS Pro/ArcGIS Online.
• Understanding of coordinate systems and mapping principles.
• Ability to interpret survey records, plats, deeds, and legal descriptions.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and data accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Perform topographic, boundary, right-of-way, construction layout, and as-built surveys.
• Collect field data using Leica, Topcon, GPS/GNSS, and UAVs.
• Establish survey control points and verify property boundaries.
• Maintain field notes and survey documentation.
• Prepare survey drawings including plats and easement exhibits.
• Collaborate with engineers, planners, and project managers.
