Job summary

McKim & Creed, Inc. is seeking a Survey Field Technician I to support field operations, load equipment, perform line cuts, and collect elevations. This role requires physical stamina and willingness to travel to job sites, with potential overnight stays.

You will work outdoors in varied terrain, follow safety protocols, and contribute to projects through accurate data collection and teamwork within a collaborative firm.

Qualifications

  • High School/GED or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, carry, and operate equipment as needed on the project.
  • Ability to travel daily. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Can work unsupervised when required.
  • Walking outdoors for long periods of time through all kinds of terrain, including urban, suburban, and rural locations, and working under adverse conditions (heat, cold, hills, swamps, wildlife & insects, high traffic areas).
  • Experience is welcomed, willing to train.
  • Current Commercial Driver’s License is a plus.
  • Background & motor vehicle checks, and pre-employment drug screening are conditions of employment.

OVERVIEW

A Survey Field Technician I loads and unloads equipment from truck and carries equipment to job site; cuts line with brush axe; runs a level rod to obtain elevations; holds prism pole for horizontal positions. The job requires considerable walking for long periods of time through all kinds of terrain, uneven ground and sometimes water.
