DRMP's Surveying & Mapping/Geomatics Division in Charlotte, NC is hiring entry-level Survey Field Technicians to join our team. No experience required; perfect for outdoors-oriented individuals starting a career in surveying.

You will load and transport equipment, set up the site, clear brush, assist the surveyors, and gain hands-on training through a structured development program.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required or preferred.
• Ability to travel with occasional overnight stays.
• Willingness to learn and operate surveying equipment.

Responsibilities

• Load truck with equipment and supplies needed for the day.
• Transport and set up instruments and prepare the job site.
• Clear brush and trees away from the survey line.
• Hold prism pole steady to help determine elevations.
• Measure distances using tape or electronic equipment and assist with survey tools.
• Operate surveying equipment under supervisor oversight.

DRMP's Surveying & Mapping/Geomatics Division is HIRING and we're looking for entry-level, Survey Field Technicians to join our Charlotte office.

Your Primary Responsibilities will include:

• Load truck with the necessary equipment and supplies that are needed throughout the day.
• Transport and set up the instruments/equipment and prepare the job site for the survey.
• Clear brush and trees away from the survey line.
• Hold the prism pole steady for the surveyor to help determine elevations of different points.
• Measure how far different points are from each other, using tape or electronic equipment; Help with the various pieces of survey equipment.
• Have familiarity/working knowledge of survey equipment.
• Operate the surveying equipment with the supervisor's oversight.

What you'll need:

• High School and/or specialized training from a vocational or technical school.
• Valid driver's license with approved/acceptable driving history required.
• Ability to travel - some overnight travel may be required
• Ability to carry and lift equipment as needed on the project.
• Ability to cut and/or clear brush while establishing survey lines. (machete use)
• Adequate knowledge of equipment and the ability to set up for various types of work.
• Ability to hold and proficiently use a prism pole, rods, and other measuring devices.
• Ability to lift the pieces of equipment required for a project.
