Job summary

DRMP is looking for entry-level Survey Field Technicians to join our Survey/Geomatics Division in Raleigh, NC. This role offers hands-on training while working outdoors, providing an excellent opportunity for career development.

The ideal candidates should hold a High School diploma, possess a valid driver's license, and have familiarity with survey equipment. We provide a comprehensive compensation package and a supportive work environment.

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving history.
  • Ability to travel, including some overnight travel.

Job description

Hiring for entry‑level Survey Field Technicians in our Survey/Geomatics Division. This role offers hands‑on training while working outdoors.

Department: Survey/Geomatics

Location: Raleigh, NC

What You’ll Do
  • Load truck with the necessary equipment and supplies needed for the day.
  • Transport and set up the instruments/equipment and prepare the job site for the survey.
  • Clear brush and trees away from the survey line.
  • Hold the prism pole steady for the surveyor to help determine elevations of different points.
  • Measure distances between points using tape or electronic equipment; aid with various pieces of survey equipment.
  • Have familiarity/working knowledge of survey equipment.
  • Operate the surveying equipment with the supervisor’s oversight.
What You’ll Need
  • Prior surveying experience is a plus (not required).
  • Overnight travel may be required.
  • High School diploma and/or specialized training from a vocational or technical school.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
  • Ability to travel, including some overnight travel.
  • Ability to carry and lift equipment as needed on projects.
  • Ability to cut and/or clear brush while establishing survey lines (machete use).
  • Adequate knowledge of equipment and ability to set up for various types of work.
  • Ability to hold and proficiently use a prism pole, rods, and other measuring devices.
  • Ability to lift the pieces of equipment required for a project.
