Job summary

Legacy Engineering seeks a Field Survey Technician to join our civil engineering team in Fredericksburg, VA. You will assist Survey Party Chiefs in the field, become proficient with robots, drones and GPS, and read and interpret plans.

The role requires outdoor work 8+ hours daily, ability to follow directions, and strong teamwork. We offer comprehensive benefits and ongoing training opportunities to support your career growth.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• Must be willing to work 8+ hours per day outside in various elements.
• Willing to wear provided PPE and take instruction from Survey Party Chiefs.
• Possess skills in problem solving, analytical and critical thinking; must work well in a team.
• Able to multi-task and prioritize work.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Assist and work with Survey Party Chiefs in the field


• Become familiar with Survey grade instruments such as robots, drones and GPS


• Reading maps, following directions, and interpreting engineering and construction plans


• Observing and documenting field activities


• Other duties may be assigned

The compensation range for this position is $18 to $20 /hourly, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description.
