Legacy Engineering in Fredericksburg, VA is seeking a Field Survey Technician to support field crews on land development projects. You will assist Survey Party Chiefs, operate survey instruments, and help read and interpret plans while learning the job.

The role requires willingness to work outdoors 8+ hours, wear PPE, and follow directions. No prior experience is required, and you will grow your skills in GPS, robotics, drones, and other survey technologies through hands-on training; a

Legacy Engineering is a woman-owned civil engineering firm specializing in land development design, geotechnical services, construction materials testing and inspections, land surveying, planning consulting, and environmental services. Headquartered in Fredericksburg, Virginia, we serve clients throughout the Commonwealth and beyond.

We are seeking a highly motivated team player to join our team! If you are enthusiastic about land surveying & civil engineering and eager to be challenged, we have an opening for a Field Survey Technician.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist and work with Survey Party Chiefs in the field
• Become familiar with Survey grade instruments such as robots, drones and GPS
• Reading maps, following directions, and interpreting engineering and construction plans
• Observing and documenting field activities
• Other duties may be assigned

Skills, Knowledge, Expertise

• No experience necessary.
• Must be willing to work 8+ hours per day outside in various elements
• Willing to wear provided PPE and take instruction from Survey Party Chiefs
• Possess quality and focused skills in problem solving, analytical and critical thinking as well as having interpersonal and people skills to work in a team environment
• Able to multi-task and prioritize work

The compensation range for this position is $18 to $20 /hourly, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description.
