Job summary

Schneider Geomatics in Indianapolis, IN seeks an experienced Survey Field Manager to lead Development Services field operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to high quality standards. This leadership role oversees field personnel, equipment, scheduling, safety, and data quality while partnering with Project Managers and company leadership.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Surveying or related field, 5+ years of surveying experience, and a PLS license

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's in Surveying or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years surveying experience; leadership preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GPS/GNSS, robotic total stations, and modern survey equipment.
  • Proficiency with Trimble Business Center (TBC), Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office.
  • PLS license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise survey field staff.
  • Manage daily field schedules, personnel, equipment, and resources.
  • Provide technical guidance and ensure quality field data and documentation.
  • Support project planning, staffing, and budget management.
  • Oversee survey equipment, fleet, and field technology.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure OSHA and company compliance.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop field employees.
  • Drive continuous improvement in field operations and processes.

Survey Field Manager

We are seeking an experienced Survey Field Manager to lead our Development Services survey field operations and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. This leadership role oversees field personnel, equipment, scheduling, safety, and quality while partnering with Project Managers and company leadership to deliver exceptional results.

Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of surveying experience; leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of land surveying principles, GPS/GNSS, robotic total stations, and modern survey equipment.
  • Proficiency with Trimble Business Center (TBC), Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office.
  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license preferred.
This full-time position combines office and field responsibilities with regular travel to project sites and occasional overnight travel. Candidates must be comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions.
