Job summary

Pape-Dawson is seeking a Survey Field Intern to support the survey crew under the Party Chief's direction. This internship provides hands-on training in field survey techniques, equipment operation, and data collection, helping you develop a career in land surveying.

You will assist with field tasks, load and maintain equipment, and learn to operate survey instruments while following safety procedures in diverse outdoor environments.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited program in Surveying, Geospatial Sciences, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to follow directions and work as part of a coordinated team.
• Familiarity with or willingness to learn survey equipment operation.
• Physical ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs. and perform outdoor tasks in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist the survey crew with field tasks, including brush clearing, setting up tripods and prisms, and carrying the survey rod for staking.
• Load, unload, and maintain survey equipment and supplies for daily assignments.
• Set up back sights and operate survey instruments under supervision.
• Follow established safety and field procedures to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Work in a variety of outdoor environments and terrains to collect accurate data for survey projects.
