Pape-Dawson Engineers in Longview, TX is seeking a Survey Field Intern to assist the survey crew under the Party Chief. This hands-on role provides training in field survey techniques, equipment operation, and data collection while developing essential skills for a career in land surveying.

Responsibilities include assisting with field tasks, loading equipment, operating instruments under supervision, and following safety procedures in outdoor environments.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited program in Surveying, Geospatial Sciences, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to follow directions and work as part of a coordinated team.
• Familiarity with or willingness to learn survey equipment operation.
• Physical ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs. and perform outdoor tasks in all weather conditions.
• Reliability and dependability in attendance and performance.

Responsabilités

• Assist the survey crew with field tasks, including brush clearing, setting up tripods and prisms, and carrying the survey rod for staking.
• Load, unload, and maintain survey equipment and supplies for daily assignments.
• Set up back sights and operate survey instruments under supervision.
• Follow established safety and field procedures to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Work in a variety of outdoor environments and terrains to collect accurate data for survey projects.

Formation

Surveying Geospatial Sciences Civil Engineering program student or grad

Effective communication (verbal and written)

Teamwork and following directions

Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and perform outdoors
