Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers is seeking a Survey Field Intern to support the survey crew under the Party Chief's direction. This role provides hands-on training in field surveying techniques, equipment operation, and data collection, building foundational skills for a career in land surveying.

You will assist with field tasks, equipment handling, and data gathering while operating in outdoor environments. This internship emphasizes reliability, teamwork, and safety in all field activities.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited program in Surveying or related field.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Ability to follow directions and work as part of a coordinated team.
• Familiarity with or willingness to learn survey equipment operation.
• Physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs and perform outdoor tasks in all weather conditions.
• Reliability and dependability in attendance and performance.

Responsibilities

• Assist the survey crew with field tasks, including brush clearing, setting up tripods and prisms, and carrying the survey rod for staking.
• Load, unload, and maintain survey equipment and supplies for daily assignments.
• Set up back sights and operate survey instruments under supervision.
• Follow established safety and field procedures to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Work in a variety of outdoor environments and terrains to collect accurate data for survey projects.
