Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers in Fort Worth, TX seeks a Survey Field Intern to support the survey crew under the Party Chief. This hands-on role trains you in field techniques, equipment operation, and data collection while building a foundation for a career in land surveying.

You will assist with field tasks, load and maintain gear, set up instruments, and follow safety procedures in outdoor environments. Ideal candidates are enrolled in or recently graduated from surveying or geospatial programs and

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited program in Surveying, Geospatial Sciences, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to follow directions and work as part of a coordinated team.
• Familiarity with or willingness to learn survey equipment operation.

• Assist the survey crew with field tasks, including brush clearing, setting up tripods and prisms, and carrying the survey rod for staking.
• Load, unload, and maintain survey equipment and supplies for daily assignments.
• Set up back sights and operate survey instruments under supervision.
• Follow established safety and field procedures to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Work in a variety of outdoor environments and terrains to collect accurate data for survey projects.
