Job summary

Civil Science, Inc. is seeking an experienced Survey Crew Chief to lead Idaho survey operations.

You will manage one- to two-person crews, perform staking and topographic surveys using Trimble equipment, and ensure data quality and safety on infrastructure projects across eastern and southern Idaho. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with travel to Twin Falls or Idaho Falls and throughout southeast Idaho.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years surveying field experience.
• Experience leading survey crews or managing field operations.
• Proficient with Trimble GPS equipment, robotic total stations, and Civil 3D.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead field survey crews on transportation, infrastructure, and public works projects in Idaho.
• Perform construction staking, boundary, topographic, and design surveys using Trimble gear.
• Collect, process, and verify survey data while maintaining quality and safety.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients.
• Mentor junior staff and improve survey operations.
