KLJ is seeking a Survey Crew Chief I to lead field surveying activities across regional projects, ensuring accurate data collection for engineering and construction efforts.

The role involves boundary and topographic surveys, data analysis, and collaboration with engineers and clients. Outdoor work, safety, and quality are emphasized, with opportunities for growth through advanced tools and regional projects.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of surveying experience.
• Knowledge of easements, rights-of-way, plats, boundary surveys, property descriptions, and GPS surveys.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and field conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform boundary, topographic, as-built, subdivision, and profile surveys.
• Collect, research, and analyze deeds, property records, utility information, and survey data.
• Operate survey equipment and technology to gather field measurements.
• Prepare field notes, calculations, sketches, reports, and survey documentation.
• Assist with mapping legal boundaries and documenting existing site conditions.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, project managers, and clients to support project delivery.
• Verify data accuracy and ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
• Maintain a strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
