Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Survey Crew Chief to lead field survey operations across Central Indiana. You will work with an instrument operator in a two-person crew and occasionally solo, delivering construction layouts, as-built, topo, and boundary surveys with Trimble technology.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of field crew chief experience, strong civil surveying skills, and the ability to travel to various sites.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional field survey experience as a Crew Chief.
• Experience performing field portions of construction layouts.
• Experience with boundary, topographic, and ALTA surveys (construction layout preferred).
• Hands-on civil land surveying experience including boundary and topo surveys.

Responsibilities

• Lead field survey crew to perform construction layouts, as-built surveys, topo surveys, and boundary surveys across projects.
• Coordinate with an instrument operator and occasionally work solo as needed.
• Ensure accurate staking and layout to support construction activities.
• Support ALTA survey work upon permanent hire when applicable.
• Operate Trimble equipment and ensure data quality and integrity.
• Travel to Central Indiana job sites and return home daily.
• Attend meetings with project managers to review requirements and schedules.
• Maintain safety and proper use of equipment and company vehicles.
