Job summary

Fishbeck is seeking a Survey Crew Chief in Texas to lead field surveying operations, including topographic mapping and construction staking. You will handle data collection, processing, and coordination with the Senior Professional Land Surveyor to ensure accurate boundary and ALTA/NSPS surveys.

The role emphasizes independent work on construction sites, safety compliance, and strong attention to detail within a collaborative team environment.

Survey Crew Chief

Location: Texas

Employment Type: Full-Time

Working with our Survey team, you will perform a variety of surveying tasks, including topographic mapping, construction staking, boundary/control surveying, ALTA/NSPS surveys, and subdivisions.

What You’ll Do

• operate modern survey equipment, including robotic total stations and Trimble GPS.
• Read and interpret construction plans and specifications to perform construction staking and layout.
• Record survey measurements and descriptive data using notes, drawings, and sketches.
• Conduct property research and collect field data for boundary surveys.
• Process and organize survey data to create boundary, topographic, right-of-way, and as-built surveys
• Report directly to a Senior Professional Land Surveyor.

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of related surveying experience.
• Ability to work on construction and project sites while complying with all applicable safety requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Minimum Physical Requirements

Ability to walk, climb, and maneuver outdoors to conduct field surveys; lift and carry survey equipment; and operate a company motor vehicle to travel to work sites. Outdoor work in inclement weather is necessary. Indoor work involves using a computer and other standard office equipment, sitting, standing, and light lifting. Visual acuity is essential.
