Baird, Hampton & Brown (BHB) in Fort Worth seeks an experienced Survey Crew Chief to lead field surveys for land development, transportation, and utilities. You will supervise crew members, operate Trimble GPS and robotic total stations, perform stakeouts and data collection, and coordinate with office staff to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
The role requires at least three years of Crew Chief experience in boundary/topographic/ALTA surveys, a Texas driver's license, and the ability to travel

We are currently seeking an experienced, full-time, non-exempt Survey Crew Chief to join our Fort Worth team. In this role, you'll perform field surveys for a wide range of projects, including land development, transportation, utilities, and energy. You'll work with the latest GPS, robotic surveying, and laser scanning technologies while contributing to BHB's mission of delivering top-quality work.
Projects may include abstract research, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, boundary and easement surveys, construction staking, volume calculations, design surveys, tree surveys, topographic mapping, unmanned aerial systems (UAS), and utility mapping.
This role requires stamina and adaptability. You'll spend extended periods standing, walking, and hiking across diverse terrain, while lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. Regular tasks may include bending, squatting, digging, reaching overhead, driving stakes with a sledgehammer, and clearing brush with tools such as a machete or brush hook.
Expect frequent exposure to environmental elements such as heat, cold, sun, rain, wind, wildlife, poison ivy, pollen, and water.
Local travel is required throughout the day to drive to project sites and complete survey work. A company vehicle and fuel will be provided. Occasional overnight travel may be requested during the weekdays.
