Job summary

Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM) in the United States is seeking a Survey Technician to support office and field staff by processing information and producing final land surveying deliverables. You will report to the Project Manager and use the latest technology in the A/E/C industry to increase project efficiency and client satisfaction.

You bring 5+ years of field and office experience in route surveying and related tasks, strong CAD skills (AutoCAD Civil 3D required; MicroStation a plus), and

Qualifications

• 5+ years field and office experience in route survey projects, boundary analysis, DTM, and construction layout
• Strong computer and technical skills; AutoCAD Civil 3D required; MicroStation is a plus
• Proficiency in technical math; Geometry and Trigonometry are a plus
• Familiarity with GIS platforms is a plus however it is not necessary
• S.I.T. Certification is a plus however, it is not necessary

Responsibilities

• Process data to SAM standards and ensure accuracy and sufficiency under supervisor guidance
• Monitor field crew production and quality assurance
• Prepare survey plats and drawings, legal descriptions, and alignment drawings
• Perform quality control checks of plats, drawings, and deliverables
• Coordinate with supervisor to meet client-specific demands

Your Impact at SAM

As a Survey Technician, you will support office and field staff by processing incoming information and producing final land surveying project deliverables. You will report to the Project Manager and perform technical tasks utilizing the latest technology in the A/E/C industry. You will help increase project efficiency and client satisfaction by:

• Processing data utilizing SAM standards, including the evaluation of accuracy and sufficiency, all while ensuring compliance to applicable land survey project and industry principles under the direction of your supervisor
• Monitoring field crew’s production and quality assurance
• Preparing survey plats and drawings, legal descriptions and alignment drawings
• Performing quality control checks of plats, drawings and deliverables prepared by other technicians
• Coordinating with supervisor to ensure client-specific demands are being met

What You Bring to SAM

• 5+ years field and office experience in route survey projects, boundary analysis, DTM projects, and construction layout and data processing
• Strong computer and technical skills; AutoCAD Civil 3D required; MicroStation is a plus
