Job summary

Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM) in Austin, TX is seeking a Survey Technician to support office and field staff by processing data and producing final land surveying deliverables. You will report to the Project Manager and work with the latest technology in the A/E/C industry.

You will help increase project efficiency and client satisfaction by following SAM standards, monitoring field crews, and performing QC of field deliverables.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in technical math and geometry/trigonometry is a plus.
• Strong computer and technical skills; basic surveying software familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Process data per SAM standards and evaluation criteria.
• Monitor field crew production and perform initial QC of field deliverables.

Your Impact at SAM

As a Survey Technician, you will support office and field staff by processing incoming information and producing final land surveying project deliverables. You will report to the Project Manager and perform technical tasks utilizing the latest technology in the A/E/C industry. You will help increase land survey project efficiency and client satisfaction by:

• Processing data utilizing SAM standards, including the evaluation of accuracy and sufficiency, all while ensuring compliance to applicable land survey project and industry principles under the direction of your supervisor
• Monitoring field crew’s production and quality assurance
• Carrying out initial QC of field deliverables according to standards and best practices
• Coordinating with supervisor to ensure client-specific demands are being met

What You Bring to SAM

• Strong desire to learn -little to no experience required; on-the-job training provided
• Strong computer and technical skills; AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit or similar application is a plus
• Proficiency in technical math; Geometry and Trigonometry are a plus
