Job description

OVERVIEW

Merrick & Company is seeking a career- and quality-minded Survey CAD Technician for challenging projects including all types of Boundary, GPS, Easement/Right of Way, Topographic, and As-Built Surveys. Qualified candidates will perform survey-related research, calculations, and create final survey deliverables. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a Land Surveyor. This is a full-time position based in Chamblee (Atlanta Metro), GA, or Greenwood Village, CO.

Hourly pay range is $19.18 - $24.23, depending on experience and skills.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Perform survey research using online resources or county records, analyze and reduce field notes, and work with survey coordinate systems and datums.
• Support the preparation of drawings, descriptions, and exhibits for projects with limited complexity, applying survey standards.
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to draft simple property descriptions, land survey plats, and topographic maps.
• Assist in preparing field packages and legal descriptions/exhibits.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• At least one year of land survey office or field experience.
• One year of experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPoint.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of survey research and basic survey concepts such as boundary, GPS, easements, right-of-way, construction layout, and topographic mapping.
• Attention to detail, organization, and customer focus.
• Ability to follow schedules and track progress for timesheets and budgets.
• Good communication skills.
• Legal eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in a geospatial field.
• Local candidates preferred.
