ESP Associates, Inc. in Morrisville, NC is seeking a Survey CAD Technician to join our team. You will prepare and revise survey drawings, process field data, and support accurate geomatics projects.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in surveying technology/geomatics, civil engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years’ experience in land surveying preferred.
• Demonstrate strong self-motivation and organizational skills; field experience required.
• Position may require work to be performed in the field.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and revise survey drawings, plats, and exhibits using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or Trimble Business Center based on field data and project specs.
• Work with survey crew chiefs, project managers, and staff to resolve discrepancies and clarify field data.
• Assist with preparing legal descriptions, boundary computations, easement exhibits, and other survey-related documentation.
• Maintain organized project files, drawing records, and survey data per company standards.
• Review drawings for accuracy before submission to project managers or clients.
• Support multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and schedules.

As a Survey CAD Technician, you will be responsible for preparing and revising survey drawings, processing field data, and supporting the delivery of accurate surveying and geomatics projects. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to contribute to a variety of land surveying projects while growing their technical skills within a dynamic Engineering, Surveying, and Planning firm.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and revise survey drawings, plats, and exhibits using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or Trimble Business Center based on field data, survey notes, and project specifications.
• Work closely with survey crew chiefs, project managers, and other technical staff to resolve discrepancies and clarify field data.
• Assist with preparing legal descriptions, boundary computations, easement exhibits, and other survey-related documentation as needed.
• Maintain organized project files, drawing records, and survey data in accordance with company standards.
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and consistency before submission to project managers or clients.
• Support multiple projects simultaneously while meeting established deadlines and project schedules.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree or higher in surveying technology/geomatics, civil engineering, or related field and/or registration as a SIT preferred, but not required.
• 5+ years’ experience in land surveying preferred.
• Candidate will be required to demonstrate strong self-motivational and organizational skills, experience with survey computations and platting as well as field experience required.
• Position may require work to be performed in the field.
• Land Development survey experience required with emphasis on land development projects a plus.
• Experience with following programs preferred: Civil 3D 2016 or higher, Google Earth, Trimble Business Center and Microsoft Word & Excel.
• Experience with the following equipment preferred: Trimble data collection, GPS receivers, robotic total stations
• Computer skills involved in the submittal of daily files including downloading of data, preparation/organization of field sketches & digital photographs, completion of daily checklists are required.
• Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.
