Job summary

ESP Associates is seeking an experienced Survey CAD Technician in Greensboro, NC to support land development and route survey projects. The role combines office and field work with hands-on CAD drafting and survey computations.

The ideal candidate will have CAD prowess, strong field skills, and experience with Trimble gear and Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Geopak knowledge. The position offers a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment across engineering, surveying, planning, and geosciences,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of land surveying experience preferred.
• Associate degree or higher in surveying technology/geomatics, civil engineering, or a related field; SIT registration preferred.
• Land development survey experience required; commercial/residential/route and construction layout experience a plus.
• Experience with survey computations, platting, and field work required.
• Experience with Trimble data collection, GPS receivers, robotic total stations, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Geopak required; PLS-CADD and ArcGIS a plus.
• Strong self-motivation and organizational skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Google Earth, and Trimble Data Transfer a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support land development surveys, including commercial, residential, and route-type projects, as well as construction layout.

• Download and submit daily field data files.

As a Survey CAD Technician, you will be responsible for survey computations, platting, and drafting in support of land development and route survey projects, with work performed both in the office and in the field. This is an opportunity for an experienced survey professional with strong CAD and field skills to further their career within a dynamic and growing Engineering, Surveying and Planning firm.

• Land development survey experience required; commercial, residential, route, and construction layout experience a plus.
• Experience with survey computations, platting, and field work required.
• Experience with Trimble data collection, GPS receivers, robotic total stations, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Geopak required; PLS-CADD and ArcGIS a plus.
• Strong self-motivation and organizational skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Google Earth, and Trimble Data Transfer a plus.
• Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.
