Job summary

Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots is seeking a Surveillance Operator to oversee security operations within the casino environment in New Orleans, LA. You will monitor gaming areas, assess unusual activity, and document incidents with clear, factual reports.

The role requires 3–5 years of experience, eligibility for a Louisiana Gaming License, and the ability to communicate findings to management and, when necessary, testify in legal proceedings.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Documents procedure infractions and incidents of theft or other violations.
• Conducts Close Watch or other surveillance as assigned and informs Director.
• Forwards reports to Director and recommends Close Watch on suspicious personnel.
• Monitors and observes gaming establishments; conducts investigations as needed.
• Prepares complete, factual surveillance reports; may testify in court as a witness.

We are a premiere entertainment venue presenting thoroughbred & exotic animal races, slots, video poker and simulcasting year-round. Located in New Orleans, Fair Grounds operates a slot-machine gaming facility and 13 off-track betting parlors throughout southeast Louisiana.

Job Summary

Act as oversight and security agent for management and customers. Observe casino for irregular activities. Usually required to provide verbal and written reports of all violations and suspicious behavior to supervisor.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Documents procedure infractions
• Documents incidents of theft, etc.
• Conducts or assigns Close Watch or other special surveillance
• Informs Director of special observation requests
• Forwards all reports to Director
• Recommends Close Watch on personnel observed to be acting suspiciously
• Makes proper notifications of Gaming and other violations
• Represents Director in his absence
• Monitor and observe gaming establishments
• Conduct investigations
• Must be able to prepare Surveillance reports as required in a complete, factual and legible manner
• Testify as necessary in a court of law as a witness
• Safeguard all confidential information
• Perform all other duties, as assigned

Required Skills And Abilities

Must be 21 years or older. Must be able to obtain a Gaming and Racing License from Louisiana Racing Commission.

Education And Experience

3-5 years of experience. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from team members, regulatory agencies or members of the staff. Ability to write and present information to management in a reasonable manner. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several variables.
