Job description

Summary: Under the supervision of the surveillance investigators, the surveillance investigator trainee utilizes provided equipment to identify, record, document, and report illegal, unusual, or suspicious activities and policy or procedure violations occurring in all gaming, non-gaming, and back-of-the-house areas. Maintains knowledge of and understands the current property gaming operations, surveillance standard operating procedures, and company policies and procedures.

Essential Functions:

1. Monitors the activities of guests and employees using a CCTV surveillance system.
2. Makes tape changes.
3. Conducts player evaluations, audits, and close watches of specific employees, guests, and departments.
4. Conducts VCR checks on a weekly basis.
5. Conducts dealer pace audits on a quarterly basis.
6. Tests for Investigator Level 1 within six months of the hire date or as required by surveillance management.
7. Maintains a continuous self-education program to expand job knowledge and completes job-related quizzes at management’s discretion.
8. Ensures compliance with all applicable gaming laws, company internal controls, policies, procedures, Title 31, and federal regulations.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. One year of experience in law enforcement, security, or surveillance systems operations is preferred.
3. Previous gaming experience is preferred.
4. Ability to find common sense solutions and deal with multiple variables in situations with limited standardization.
5. Ability to interpret and communicate instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
6. Effective communication skills in group and one-on-one settings.
7. Basic understanding of computer operations.
8. Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations.
9. Required Work Card: Gaming.

Physical Requirements:

1. Ability to visually recognize colors (a color vision test may be administered prior to hiring).
2. Critical vision, hearing, speech, and literacy skills.
3. Primarily indoors work environment (more than 75%).
4. Physical activities include bending, kneeling, lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, walking, or standing (less than 25%).
