Job summary

Wake Forest University is seeking a Surplus and Event Technician who will assist with surplus management, relocation of campus assets, and event support across the Reynolda campus and beyond. You will help coach staff and ensure safe, efficient operations with a strong focus on customer service.

The role requires physical stamina, valid driver's license, ability to operate pallet jacks and boxes trucks, and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed in Winston-Salem, North

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, or GED with two years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language sufficient to perform the duties of the position.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills to maintain effective working relationships with university customers across all levels.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to work as part of an integrated team to achieve goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with surplus management, including the collection, transportation, and delivery of University surplus goods as needed.
  • Assist the manager with oversight of daily staff and operations.
  • Assist with moving furniture/equipment needed for faculty and staff work location changes, as well as resetting room furniture in residence halls as needed.
  • Includes temporarily relocating furniture and other campus equipment for events.
  • Assist in the delivery, setup, breakdown, movement, and storage of event-related supplies and equipment for indoor and outdoor events, both on and off Reynolda campus.
  • Operate material-handling equipment, including pallet jacks, dollies, carts, and other moving equipment.
