The Cornell University Hospital for Animals seeks a Licensed Veterinary Technician II to support a fast-paced, high-volume surgical service within a teaching hospital environment. This role provides hands-on surgical nursing support and strict aseptic standards in collaboration with veterinarians, technicians, and learners.

Employees must have NY licensure or eligibility. The position is onsite in Ithaca, NY with flexible scheduling to meet 24/7 hospital coverage needs.

Qualifikationen

• Associates degree in Veterinary Technology and NY licensure or eligible to be licensed.
• Excellent communication, team building and organizational skills.
• Ability to meet physical demands including prolonged standing, kneeling, and lifting heavy patients.

Aufgaben

• Perform the duties of a scrub nurse on orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries.
• Maintain surgical logs and ensure charges are accurate.
• Assist veterinarians in pre-operative examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Evaluate inventory and restock supplies in scrub areas.
• Instruct veterinary students and residents in techniques of restraint, monitoring, injections, and bandaging.
