Job summary

Cornell University Hospital for Animals in Ithaca, NY is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician II to join our 24/7 emergency and critical care team. You will provide technical expertise, deliver lifesaving treatments, and mentor rotating veterinary students.

The role supports ongoing learning with faculty mentorship and a clear path for specialty advancement, including VTS. Competitive shift differentials apply for evenings, nights, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology required.
• New York State licensure or eligibility to become licensed in NYS.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience.
• Natural inclination towards leadership and ability to connect to various services within a complex institution.
• Interest in ongoing career growth and advanced skill development.

Responsibilities

• Join our international team of board-certified emergency/critical care veterinarians and LVTs at Cornell University Hospital for Animals (CUHA).
• Be part of a world-renowned specialty and emergency facility.
• Shape the future of veterinary medicine through collaboration with faculty and house officers and instruction of our diverse DVM students.
• Provide technical expertise for routine and complex emergency procedures, including RECOVER based CPR, advanced resuscitation and stabilization of critical emergencies.
• Work in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.
• Collaborate and cross-train with additional specialty services to ensure leading edge patient care.
