Job summary

Ethos Veterinary Health in Chicago is seeking a Veterinary Technician, Surgery, to join our premier emergency and specialty team. The role requires a CVT or experienced nurse with 3+ years in emergency or specialty care and strong anesthesia monitoring for ASA 3–5 patients.

Qualifications

• CVT or experienced veterinary nurse with emergency or specialty background (ASA 3–5 anesthesia monitoring).
• Strong anesthetic monitoring experience and patient care across surgical procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, organized, proactive.
• Collaborative attitude and ability to work with veterinarians and staff.
• Able to remain calm and positive in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exemplary nursing care before, during, and after surgeries.
• Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, meds calculation and administration.
• Assist anesthesia monitoring for advanced procedures (endoscopy, CT, soft tissue, ortho).
• Support surgeons during complex procedures and maintain sterile fields.
• Educate clients and ensure positive experience from admission to discharge.
• Maintain and troubleshoot surgical equipment and instrumentation.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure patient safety and high-quality care.
