Job summary

Skylos Sports Medicine, a BluePearl Partner, seeks a Veterinary Technician to join our Surgery team in Ellicott City, MD. This role focuses on anesthesia and perioperative care, with responsibilities spanning pre-op to recovery in a 4x10 hour shift schedule (Mon-Thu).

The ideal candidate will have veterinary technician credentials and experience with anesthesia, monitor for complications, perform IV placement and intubation, and maintain patient records and post-op care.

Qualifications

• Licensed veterinary technician in good standing
• Experience with anesthesia and surgical suites preferred
• Able to work 4x10 hour shifts

Responsibilities

• Formulate anesthetic plans tailored to patient needs.
• Monitor anesthesia and intervene for complications.
• Place IV catheters and assist with intubation.
• Perform physical exams and monitor vital signs.
• Prepare IV fluids and CRIs.
• Assist with advanced anesthesia (epidurals, difficult airway) and critical cases.
• Manage patient flow from pre-op to recovery.
• Maintain medical records, invoicing and discharges.
