BluePearl Pet Hospital in Tacoma, WA is seeking a knowledgeable Veterinary Assistant to join our Surgery Team. You will triage cases, assist DVM with estimates, perform diagnostics, set up ICU, discharge patients, and communicate with clients while working as part of a skilled team.

As a Surgery Veterinary Assistant, you will provide nursing care, place peripheral IV catheters, monitor vital signs, set up and administer IV fluids, scrub in for procedures with boarded surgeons, and maintain clean

Qualifications

• Two or more years of veterinary hospital experience preferred.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Triage cases and assist DVM with estimates.
• Perform diagnostics (radiographs, lab work) and ICU setup.
• Discharge patients and communicate with clients.
• Scrub in for surgical procedures with boarded surgeons.
• Maintain clean operating rooms and sterilize instruments.
• Check in and write up history for consults; communicate post-operatively.
